Tony Yang, CEO of Korean’s well known chemical company HS CHEM Co., LTD., paid a visit to Shanghai on Feb 28. Shanghai Titanos’s Chairman Tao Yang received him at Titanos Group’s headquarter in the Shanghai Oasis International Business Plaza in Putuo District.

HS CHEM has been manufacturing a broad range of MONORAL Additives since 1978 and now enjoys extensive experience in the field of coatings technology.

As a long-term cooperative partner, HS CHEM has been providing Titanos with high performance rheological and thixotropic additives for years. “Titanos is a good business partner,” Yang said. “I am quite impressed by Titanos’s hardworking staff.”

According to Yang, HS CHEM’s export volume of 2012 has reached 3,000 metric tons, accounting for half of its total sales volume, and he is expecting an increase of 20 percent in export for year 2013.

“I am quite interested in Chinese market,” he said. “I am even thinking about having HS CHEM’s own manufacturing base in China by 2015 while continuing the cooperation with Chinese companies.”

As the Sino-Korean economic links become tighter and tighter, Korean companies may also meet with more competitors in China. “It is not that easy to do business in China as we have so many competitors offering high quality products at lower price,” Yang said.

However, Yang still describes Chinese market as a very attractive one. “Big volume is China’s great advantage,” he added.
