The UK has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into Chinese titanium dioxide.

According to a March 3rd announcement on the UK website, the UK Trade Remedy Office (TRA) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into rutile titanium dioxide from China. The investigation will last throughout 2025 to verify whether imported Chinese products are being dumped and the resulting injury to the UK industry. If measures are deemed necessary, their justification will be assessed through an economic benefit test. Relevant companies can register to participate by March 17th, and the TRA will also hold an online briefing on March 6th.
On March 3rd, 2026, the TRA issued a notice initiating an anti-dumping investigation into rutile titanium dioxide originating from China, at the request of UK producer Tronox Pigment UK Limited. The UK Customs codes for the products in question are 2823 0000 10, 2823 0000 30, 2823 0000 80, 2823 0000 83, 3206 1100 10, 3206 1100 30, 3206 1100 80 and 3206 1100 85. The period of investigation for dumping and subsidies is from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025, and the period of investigation for injury is from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2025.
