On June 7, in the science and technology awarding meeting held in Sichuan province, the scientific and technological achievements which takes the vanadium and titanium resources in comprehensive development and utilization as an initiative of Panzhihua city were awarded great , the first prize of 2 items, second prize of 4 items , third-class prize of 18 items. The quantity and quality is in front in the whole province.

The news that the scientific research of Panzhihua city is great promoted the vanadium and titanium industry developming and growing. In the major science research, the direct reduction of vanadium and titanium magnetite of Panzhihua city has achieved a significant breakthrough. And it has formed the rotary hearth furnace (RHF) coal-based , tunnel kiln and more technical routes and the direct reduction in the new process has been in the mass industrial eve. It is expected to be a successful application promotion and the utilization rate of titanium will be increased from 15% to more than 70%, and the utilization rate of vanadium will be increased from 47% to more than 55%, and  create conditions for chrome, nickel, copper, gallium, rare metals of recycling. In the use field of titaniferous resources, all the process technology of titanium industry has basically got through and broke through the lag smelting technology of large electric titanium, rich titanium and synthetic rutile of preparation of new technology and sponge titanium production of the technology and equipment and a number of key technology. In the field of vanadium resource utilization, it has developed a new technology of clean production vanadium oxide and implemented the transformation. In secondary comprehensive utilization areas of resources, the comprehensive utilization technology of high sintering furnace dust and gas mud, ferrous sulfate, and other technology have made new progress and it has developed silicon alloy, titanium potassium chloride, the iron series pigments and other products, which opens up new ways for the comprehensive utilization of scare metal.
 

Panzhihua city will integrate domestic and foreign relevant innovation of science and technology resources and build a good regional innovation system of comprehensive utilization of vanadium and titanium resources, and continuously enhance the technical innovation ability of the comprehensive utilization of resources and the core competition of industrial development.
