Webinar Details:
A high-quality metal pretreatment (surface preparation) combining conversion coating and the appropriate organic coating is essential for the durability of finished products. Methods for pretreatment vary depending on the material to be painted, the paint to be used and the desired properties of the resulting finish. Pretreatment of a metal surface can include chemical cleaning, mechanical cleaning, and/or chemical conversion coatings.
Parts must be pretreated and prepared well prior to the subsequent process. If the selected pretreatment method does not remove unwanted soils from the substrate the metal surface will be inadequately protected from paint adhesion and corrosion.
This presentation focuses on different pretreatment options - mechanical & chemical pretreatment. It will enable you to make smart decisions in the selection, design, installation, and upgrade of a pretreatment system. It will highlight topics including soils, substrates, cleaners, rinsing and drying, and the means to verify the cleaning and rinsing effectiveness. Process automation, safety, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of process equipment will also be covered.
