Bridgestone recalls tires for cracking problem

WASHINGTON—Bridgestone Americas is recalling a small number of H300 315/80R22.5 18-ply tires because of possible cracks at the inner liner splice, the tire maker told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The 36 tires were manufactured between January 2012 and August 2013, Bridgestone said. The inner liner splice cracks could penetrate the tires' sidewalls, resulting in sidewall bulges and tire deflation, it said.
Bridgestone will begin notifying tire owners in December and replace the tires free of charge.
