Tokai Rubber Industries Ltd. said Thursday that a new plant, which will produce antivibration rubber dampers for automobiles, has begun operation in northern India.

 

The factory is scheduled to begin full production in November, the company said. The new plant, located in the Nimurana industrial park, about 120 kilometers southwest of central New Delhi, will supply antivibration rubber components to automobile factories in northern India.

 

The firm, based in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture, spent about 800 million rupees (¥1.23 billion) on the plant, which is run by subsidiary Tokai Rubber Auto-Parts India Private Ltd.
