According to customs data, China imported about 328,600 tons of titanium ore in April 2024, a year-on-year decrease of 5.09% and a month-on-month decrease of 31.39%. The top three countries in terms of import volume are: Mozambique: 142,900 tons; Norway: 35,000 tons; Vietnam: 31,900 tons, accounting for 43.51%, 10.65% and 9.74% of the total import volume respectively.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs, the cumulative import of titanium ore from January to April 2024 was about 1.5037 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.10%. (According to the data extracted from last year, the increase this year is 3.71%). The top three import countries are Mozambique (47.45%), Norway (9.98%), and Vietnam (5.57%).
This year, the main growth is some non-mainstream mines, including 46,000 tons in South Africa, 45,000 tons in South Korea, 44,000 tons in Nigeria, and 43,000 tons in Egypt.
The largest reductions were in Kenya (50,000 tons), the United States (44,000 tons), Senegal (42,000 tons), and Vietnam (33,000 tons).
Titanium ore export data
According to customs data, China exported 6778.45 tons of titanium ore in April 2024, a year-on-year increase of 419.12% and a month-on-month decrease of 43.77%. The top three exporters are Russia (accounting for 76.7%), South Korea (accounting for 6.15%), and India (accounting for 3.98%).
From January to April 2024, the cumulative export of titanium ore was 21,800 tons, mainly exported to the top three countries, Russia, India, and South Korea.
