Using Al203 to take surface treatment of TiO2 with SiO2, the weather resistance can be greatly improved, but the TiO2 content is low, and the tinctorial power falls.


Our country generally takes surface treatment of using of the hydroxyl alcohol, higher fatty acids and ester coupling agent for rutile titanium dioxide. This simple organic surface treatment can meet the requirements of the general varieties of titanium dioxide, and can't meet the requirements of titanium dioxide of specificity. For the titanium dioxide of specificity, it should adopt the effect is more powerful organic surface treating agent with better effect and different varieties of titanium dioxide should use special organic surface treating agents and formulas.


Organic silicon of surfactants is a class of organic surface treating agent which the function is stronger. Millennium and Dupont etc have widespreadly used the organic silicon of surfactants to take the surface treatment of titanium dioxide, for example using DOW Corning R-346 to take surface treatment of rutile titanium dioxide, which can make the titanium powder evenly disperse easily in plastic. Functionally organic surface treating agent not only can give the good dispersion in the application system of titanium dioxide, also can strengthen the other application performance, such as improving the crushing performance of titanium dioxide and storage properties. Applied in paint, the rutile titanium dioxide enhanced the associativity with the paint film, which can improve the paint film of toughness and the dry performance of paint, for example, the Dow Corning Q-6300 is a kind of silane coupling agent with vinyl, used by the processing of titanium dioxide which is widely used for free radicals of solid resin.

Inorganic envelope must endow TiO2 high weathering resistance, high gloss and high dispersion in the application system and physical and chemical properties etc. To achieve this objective, it can set about from the following several aspects: (1) the choice of inorganic envelope agents:there are many inorganic envelope agents applied in the rutile titanium dioxide, including the titanium, Pei, Zn, Mn of soluble compounds. And the most commonly used is silicon, aluminum of soluble compounds. To choose which envelope agents is decided by the specific application system of products. If choose zirconium compounds, it can improve the titanium dioxide of weathering resistance; (2) inorganic envelope parameters and control technology: The technical parameters of inorganic envelop process mainly includes preparation concentration, material injection rate, temperature of envelop system and pH value of system; the control technology of inorganic envelop process includes the control of the temperature in the envelop system, on-line detection of pH value of system and material injection rate and way of control. Inorganic coated parameters and control technoloy are directly related to inorganic capsule, and good inorganic envelop is that envelop agents should be coated evenly on the surface of the particle of titanium dioxide; (3) to design inorganic coated scheme according to the specificity of the rutile titanium dioxide: the inorganic coated of the rutile titanium dioxide is muti-level composite coated. The different choice and combination of the type of coating, cladding quantity, the order and state of cladding etc can get different rutile titanium dioxide.  of varieties.
