PITTSBURGH, June 7, 2013 – PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) industrial coatings business has published a data sheet detailing the benefits of SILVERSAN™ anti-microbial-protected powder coating, a line of products and technology PPG acquired from Spraylat Corp. last December.

The new one-page document describes how the silver-ionic technology featured in SilverSan anti-microbial-protected powder coating inhibits the growth of microbes such as bacteria, fungi and algae. The coating is typically used in applications that demand exceptional hygiene or are subject to high levels of human contact, such as hospitals, public transit systems, water treatment plants, restaurants, pharmaceutical laboratories, schools, parks and child care facilities. It may also be used to protect medical, food service packaging, playground and exercise equipment.
