At the beginning of year 2014, anatase titanium dioxide prices kept dropping as those of rutile ones hike. Two Central China based titanium dioxide manufacturers have already quit the production of anatase titanium dioxide, making the nationwide capacity shrinks by six tonnes by end of 2014.

The average anatase titanium dioxide price have dropped to RMB8,200 yuan per tonne at the beginning of 2015, tax included.

According to analysts, this round of price increases may not stay long as the main driving force is actually low stock instead of growing market demand.
