Titanium dioxide price slumped last week, and prevailing price of rutile titanium dioxide dropped to RMB12,000 yuan per tonne from RMB14,000 yuan in early December.

Usually, the last month before Chinese New Year could see a boom of orders as titanium dioxide users often choose to stock up in this period in case that the prices would hike after the New Year holiday. For this year, however, most of the buyers seem to have less interest in stockpiling.
