China's TiO2 Industry: Exports Boom while Domestic Demands Weak

According to latest statistics from General Administration of Customs, China's export of titanium dioxide in July is about 53,314.28 metric tons, up 41.21% compared with the same period of last year, and up 6.55% compared with June 2014.

China's titanium dioxide export volume surpassed 50,000 metric tons in April and maintained stable growth for four consecutive months, stimulating the recent titanium dioxide price hikes.

The main cause of the rapidly growing export sales, according to analysts, is probably the ever-shrinking domestic market demands that stand in sharp contrast to the production expansion.

Price rises in overseas markets in the first quarter 2014 have greatly encouraged Chinese manufacturers, especially those who possess high production capacity. HENAN BILLIONS CHEMICALS CO., LTD (002601.SZ) has made a statement in mid-July to pay more attention to the overseas business.

China's import of titanium dioxide in July is about 20,761.44 metric tons, up 20.08% year-on-year, and up 54.91% month-on-month.
