Initiated by executives from a handful of leading molders including Ningbo Lisi Houseware Co. Ltd. and Taizhou Fuling Plastics Co. Ltd., the group was officially launched on Aug. 8 with 200-plus corporate members.

 

Most plastics houseaware manufactures are smaller companies, and their growth has been hindered by raw material pricing fluctuation, the common practice of copycatting each other's products, as well as price wars, the founding committee said in a statement.

 

CPHH aims to team up industry players to share and leverage resources. Specifically, it plans to organize group procurement of raw materials and explore sales channels to the government, the military and export markets. It also plans to help establish industry standards, hold industry events, and use media campaigns to raise public awareness.

 

Guangdong Haixing Holding Group Chairman Song Xubin was elected president of CPHP at the inaugural meeting.

 

Last month, Haixing announced that the company helped the government establish three national standards on plastics water bottles, plastic cutting boards, and injected molded plastic chairs.
