PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings (PMC) business has launched PPG HI-TEMP 222G high-temperature coating that protects substrates from corrosion under insulation (CUI) and can be applied directly to hot surfaces up to 400˚ F. PPG HI-TEMP 222G coating is a single-component product, requiring fewer cans of paint and no mixing, and thereby reducing labor costs. It can be applied in environments such as power plants, petrochemical facilities, refineries and offshore rigs. Independent studies have shown that between 40 and 60 percent of all pipe maintenance costs directly result from CUI.
