Henan Billions Chemicals (002601.SZ) is planning to raise titanium dioxide products in China by 300 yuan per metric ton.
According to anonymous insider of Billions, the timing of price adjustment is largely based on domestic market prospect.
Growing exports greatly contribute to the rounds of price rises nationwide in the first half of 2014. For Billions, export sales account for almost half of its total sales. In 2013, Billions’ exports of rutile titanium dioxide were 5.59 metric tons, 43% of its total sales (13.02 metric tons).
The prevailing prices in China of rutile and anatase titanium dioxide products are 11800-13100 and 9800-10800 yuan per metric ton, both including tax.
