Analysis of Titanium Products Import and Export Data – July 2025

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2):
In July 2025, China imported approximately 7,307.17 metric tons of titanium dioxide, representing a year-on-year decrease of 19.60% but a month-on-month increase of 49.48%. From January to July 2025, cumulative titanium dioxide imports totaled around 47,000 metric tons, down 17.16% year-on-year, with a reduction of approximately 9,700 tons.
Of the July imports, sulfur-process titanium dioxide accounted for 1,997.25 tons. The cumulative import volume of this type from January to July reached about 18,200 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 6.47% or approximately 1,100 tons. Chloride-process titanium dioxide imports in July were 5,300 tons, with a cumulative total of approximately 28,900 tons in the first seven months of the year—down 27.32% year-on-year, a decrease of around 10,800 tons.
The top three sources of titanium dioxide imports in July were Mexico, Japan, and Australia, accounting for 60%, 12%, and 8% of total imports, respectively.
In July 2025, China exported approximately 134,800 metric tons of titanium dioxide, a year-on-year decrease of 15.55% and a month-on-month increase of 2.19%. From January to July, cumulative exports stood at around 1.0514 million metric tons, down 7.14% year-on-year, representing a reduction of approximately 80,900 tons.
Exports of sulfur-process titanium dioxide in July reached 110,300 tons, with a cumulative total of 849,600 tons for the first seven months, a year-on-year decrease of 8.05% or about 74,400 tons. Exports of chloride-process titanium dioxide in July were 24,500 tons, bringing the cumulative total to approximately 201,800 tons, down 3.12% year-on-year, or a decrease of about 6,500 tons.
The top three export destinations for titanium dioxide in July were India, Vietnam, and South Korea, accounting for 13%, 6%, and 6% of total exports, respectively.
Sponge Titanium:
China recorded zero sponge titanium imports in July 2025. From January to July, cumulative sponge titanium imports totaled only 0.525 tons.
In contrast, sponge titanium exports in July amounted to 430.25 tons, a year-on-year decline of 31.23% and a month-on-month decrease of 3.53%. From January to July, China exported approximately 4,015.92 tons of sponge titanium, marking a year-on-year increase of 31.62% or approximately 964.69 tons.
The top three export destinations for sponge titanium in July were Japan, India, and the Netherlands, accounting for 70%, 23%, and 5% of total exports, respectively.
