On July 8,, the new technology of the clean production method of sulfur ammonium co-production of titanium dioxide developed by Doguide Group Co., LTD in Beijing has got through the appraisal by China petroleum and chemical industry association and China environmental science society, hosting the meeting of the scientific and technological achievements. The advanced international level of achievement has broke an innovation way for our traditionally sulfuric acid methods of titanium dioxide industry solving the problem of environmental protection and realizing the upgrade of industries.

The appraisal of group composed by ZhangYi and DuanNing academician of the Chinese academy and other experts thought the new technology of the clean production method of sulfur ammonium co-production of titanium dioxide has been mature. The effect of energy saving, consumption reduction, emission reduction is great, and the quality of the product of titanium dioxide, ore consumption, comprehensive energy consumption, water consumption all have reached internationally advanced standard. In the high quality rutile type of titanium dioxide produced by the process,  the quality index of them partially has been better than that of the chlorination process technology of products. It has unique advantages in the comprehensive utilization of resources, energy conservation and emission reduction etc and it also promoted national titanium dioxide industry upgrading and structure adjusting, which has the demonstration effect and the value of promotion.

According to introduction, this achievement has realized four big breakthroughs: one is to adopt the ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis technology for the in-depth processing of acidic waste water of titanium dioxide, and conquer the problem of the impurity congestion of osmosis membrane congestion, and reache the world advanced level of the water consumption below 50 t of titanium dioxide and sewage emissions of unit 20 tons; Second is to use imported acid high titanium slag which is hard to utilize and titanium iron ore of mixed materials and reduce the 60% of waste discharge; Third is to realize the technology industrialization of continuous acidolysis and improve the acidolysis rate to more than 96%, the rate of titanium resources utilization from about 79% to 87% above; Fourth is to use 20% of the waste sulfuric acid without being concentrated instead of 98% of the goods of sulphuric acid production to produce ammonium sulfate products. The methods of energy conservation and emission reduction will  change garbage from waste into resources and achieve the product coupling of the recycling economy.

The experts pointed out, because of the technology restriction and grade restrictions of domestic titaniferous resources and the market demands and many other factors, the sulfuric acid process of titanium dioxide also can't all be eliminated. The use of existing industry foundation of sulfuric acid method of titanium dioxide and technology innovation of cleaner production is the top priority of China's titanium dioxide industry. Therefore, the successful development of the technology have the important meaning to solve the environmental and developming problems which sulfuric acid method of titanium dioxide industry face.

As we have learned, before the appraisal meeting, China's petroleum and chemical industry association and China environmental science society had organized experts to conduct a on-site examination for the cleaner production  industrialization of cogeneration method of ammonium sulfur titanium in Shandong Doguide group Co., LTD in early June and submitted assessment report for the appraisal meeting.
